THE PALMOLIVE BUILDING
159 East Walton Place
Original construction completed 1929 (Renovated in 2002)
The Palmolive is not only one of Chicago’s most historic buildings, but an Art Deco masterpiece. Located in the Gold Coast neighborhood, and designed by the renowned architectural firm Holabird & Root, it was originally the headquarters of the Colgate-Palmolive Company; later in 1965, it became the headquarters for Playboy Magazine. Magnificently renovated in 2002, it has become one of the city’s most exclusive buildings. The homes feature a variety of floor plans, large windows, high ceilings, fireplaces and gourmet chef kitchens. Owners enjoy the latest in modern amenities including a private health club, concierge, and direct access to 18 miles of trails along Lake Michigan, for a morning jog or evening bike ride.
